Cost Accounting is a course that equips students with the knowledge and practical skills required to collect, classify, analyze, and interpret costs associated with producing goods and services. The course covers key topics such as cost concepts and classifications, material, labor and overhead costing, job order and process costing, activity-based costing, budgeting, standard costing, variance analysis, and cost-volume-profit analysis. Students learn how cost accounting supports planning, decision-making, cost control, performance evaluation, and profitability analysis in manufacturing and service organizations. By the end of the course, learners will be able to apply cost accounting techniques to solve business problems, prepare cost reports, and provide relevant financial information to support effective managerial decisions.
